2. Purpose and scope
These terms apply to the purchase or booking of the products, services and experiences available on the website at any given time, including:
- In-person candle workshops.
- Candle & Glow.
- Gift vouchers.
- Private events and corporate activities.
- Candles, kits and other physical products.
- Courses and digital content.
Each section will apply only to the products or services that are available and have been purchased or booked.
The inclusion of a category in these terms does not necessarily mean that it is available for purchase or booking at that time.
Before completing a booking or purchase, the user must read these terms. Completing the transaction implies acceptance of the version in force at that time.
3. Capacity to contract and minors
Bookings and purchases made through the website must be made by adults with legal capacity to enter into contracts.
Minors may attend certain activities where the experience description allows it and always under the responsibility of an adult.
Where it is stated that a minor must be accompanied, the adult must remain throughout the activity and, if specified in the experience description, must also have their own booked place.
Des Candles Studio may request proof of age where there are reasonable doubts.
4. Information about products, services and experiences
Des Candles Studio endeavours to ensure that the descriptions, images, prices, dates, times, materials and features shown on the website are accurate and up to date.
Before purchase or booking, the relevant essential information will be displayed, such as:
- Name and characteristics of the product, service or experience.
- Date and time, where applicable.
- Location.
- Approximate duration.
- Number of places or units.
- Total price.
- Amount paid online.
- Outstanding amount, where applicable.
- Included content.
- Applicable specific conditions.
In-person activities will take place in Barcelona, Valencia or at the location expressly indicated in the experience description and booking confirmation.
Photographs are for illustrative purposes. As these are creative and, in some cases, handmade processes, there may be slight variations in colour, texture, finish, decoration or shade.
These variations will not be considered defects where they are inherent to the handmade process and the result substantially corresponds to the description provided.
5. Candle workshops
Candle workshops are guided in-person activities linked to a specific date, time and location.
The description of each workshop will provide information including:
- Approximate duration.
- Techniques or pieces to be made.
- Materials included.
- Drinks or other services included.
- Price per person.
- Amount paid online.
- Outstanding amount payable at the studio, where applicable.
- Participation requirements.
- Number of available places.
Results may vary according to each participant's creative choices, the handmade nature of the process and the behaviour of the materials.
6. Candle & Glow
Candle & Glow is an in-person creative experience and is not presented as a training workshop.
During the experience, each participant creates their own vessel from scratch and makes a candle by choosing from the available options.
Where the final price depends on the mould, size or model selected at the studio:
- The website will show the amount that must be paid online to reserve the place.
- This amount will form part of the total price and will be deducted from the final amount.
- The remaining amount will be calculated according to the option selected.
- The prices of the available options will be displayed or communicated before the choice is made.
- The outstanding amount will be paid at the studio.
The approximate duration, services included, booking amount and applicable price range will be stated in the Candle & Glow description.
Changes and cancellations for Candle & Glow
The amount paid online to reserve a place forms part of the total price, but it is non-refundable where the change or cancellation is requested by the attendee.
If there are 7 calendar days or more before the start of the experience, the booking holder may move the booking to another available date directly from My Account on the website. The new date will be subject to availability and the published calendar.
If the attendee decides to cancel or not reschedule the booking, the amount paid to reserve the place will not be refunded.
When there are fewer than 7 calendar days before the experience, it will no longer be possible to change or cancel the booking. Failure to attend will result in loss of the amount paid.
In the event of a duly documented medical reason, a change to another available date may exceptionally be allowed in accordance with section 14. This exception does not entitle the attendee to a refund.
7. Booking or purchase process
To complete a booking or purchase, the user must:
- Select the experience, product or service.
- Choose the date, time, quantity or number of attendees, where applicable.
- Review the information displayed.
- Provide the requested information.
- Select the payment method.
- Read and accept these terms.
- Confirm the booking or purchase.
Before payment, a summary containing the essential details of the transaction will be displayed.
The user is responsible for checking in particular:
- The selected experience or product.
- The city and location.
- The date and time.
- The number of attendees or units.
- The amount paid online.
- Any outstanding amount.
- The email address provided.
Errors may be corrected before confirming payment using the available editing options.
8. Confirmation of the contract
The booking or purchase will be considered confirmed when the online payment has been authorised and the relevant confirmation is displayed or sent.
The confirmation will be sent to the email address provided during the process.
If it is not received, the spam folder should be checked or Des Candles Studio should be contacted at [email protected].
Providing an incorrect email address may prevent receipt of the confirmation, but it does not automatically invalidate a booking or purchase that has been properly completed.
Des Candles Studio may contact the user where there is a payment issue, availability issue or incomplete information that prevents the transaction from being properly fulfilled.
9. Availability and places
Bookings and purchases are subject to the availability shown on the website.
Places are limited and will be reserved once the online payment has been successfully completed.
Adding an experience or product to the basket does not guarantee availability until the transaction has been confirmed.
If, due to an exceptional error, a service already booked cannot be provided or a purchased product cannot be supplied, Des Candles Studio will inform the affected person and offer:
- An equivalent alternative accepted by the contracting person; or
- A full refund of the amount paid for the unavailable product or service.
Dates, times and places may vary by city. The availability shown will apply exclusively to the location selected by the user.
10. Prices and taxes
Prices will be shown in euros and will include legally applicable taxes, unless expressly stated otherwise in quotations or contracts aimed at businesses.
Before confirming the transaction, the following will be stated:
- Total price.
- Amount paid online.
- Outstanding amount, where applicable.
- Applicable additional charges.
- Shipping costs for physical products.
- Discounts applied.
No additional amounts will be charged unless they have been disclosed in advance.
11. Partial payments and outstanding amounts
Where an experience allows a booking to be made by means of a partial payment:
- The amount paid online will form part of the total price.
- It will not constitute an additional fee or charge.
- The outstanding amount must be paid at the studio on the day of the activity.
- The booking will be confirmed once the online payment has been authorised.
- The booking holder undertakes to pay the outstanding amount for all places reserved.
Before booking, the website will show:
- The total price.
- The amount paid online.
- The outstanding amount payable at the studio.
Where Candle & Glow has a variable price depending on the option selected, the pricing system or applicable range will be stated before booking.
12. Payment methods
The website may accept the methods shown during the checkout process, such as bank card, Bizum or other enabled systems.
Online payments will be processed by authorised external providers. Des Candles Studio will not store full bank card details.
Any outstanding amount at the studio may be paid using the payment methods available at that time.
Where a discount for cash payment is offered, the percentage, saving and resulting amount will be shown before completing the booking or clearly communicated in the experience description.
If a payment is rejected, cancelled or identified as potentially fraudulent, the booking or purchase may remain unconfirmed until the issue is resolved.
13. Changes and cancellations for candle workshops
This section applies exclusively to candle workshops. Candle & Glow is governed by the specific policy set out in section 6.
Candle workshops are linked to a specific date, time and limited number of places.
Requests for changes or cancellations must be made in writing to [email protected], stating:
- Name on the booking.
- Workshop booked.
- Date and time.
- Number of attendees affected.
Requests made at least 7 calendar days in advance
Where the request is made at least 7 calendar days before the start time of the activity, the booking holder may choose between:
- Moving the booking to another available date; or
- Requesting a refund of 50% of the amount paid for the cancelled places.
The new date will be subject to availability and the published calendar.
Where cancellation is requested by the attendee, no full refund will be made.
Requests made fewer than 7 calendar days in advance
Where the request is made fewer than 7 calendar days in advance:
- Date changes will not be accepted.
- No refunds will be issued.
- Failure to attend will result in loss of the amount paid.
This policy reflects the limited number of places, staff planning, advance preparation of materials and the difficulty of filling a place again close to the date.
Workshops and leisure experiences booked for a specific date and time are among the cases excluded from the general right of withdrawal applicable to certain distance contracts.
14. Duly documented medical reasons
Where a person is unable to attend for a duly documented medical reason, Des Candles Studio may exceptionally allow a date change even where the request is made fewer than 7 calendar days in advance.
The issue must be reported as soon as possible and accompanied by sufficient supporting documentation.
This exception:
- Will only allow a move to another available date.
- Will not entitle the person to a refund.
- Will apply only to the affected person and not automatically to all members of a group booking.
- Will be assessed reasonably in light of the circumstances.
Medical documents will be used solely to verify the issue and should not contain more information than necessary.
15. Non-attendance, lateness and change of participant
Failure to attend on the booked date will not entitle the person to a change, compensation or refund.
Attendees must arrive with the recommended advance time stated in the confirmation.
Late arrival:
- Will not entitle the attendee to extend the duration of the activity.
- May prevent completion of part of the process.
- Will not give rise to a full or partial refund.
Where the delay is so significant that joining the activity would affect safety, organisation or the group's experience, Des Candles Studio may limit participation.
Where the booking holder cannot attend, they may request that their place be used by another person, provided that:
- They notify Des Candles Studio before the activity begins.
- The substitute meets the participation requirements.
- The date, time and number of places are not changed.
16. Cancellation or modification by Des Candles Studio
Des Candles Studio reserves the right to modify the content, date, time, format or any other aspect of the workshops and experiences offered whenever it considers it necessary.
If Des Candles Studio has to cancel an activity, the booking holder may choose between:
- Moving the booking to another available date; or
- Receiving a full refund of the amount paid for the cancelled activity.
If the date or time has to be substantially changed and the new option prevents attendance, a date change or full refund of the amount paid will likewise be offered.
Des Candles Studio will notify the person of the issue as far in advance as possible using the contact details provided.
Any refund will be limited to the amount paid to Des Candles Studio for the affected activity. It will not include external travel, accommodation or other independently contracted costs, unless applicable law provides otherwise.
17. Force majeure
Neither party will be responsible for failure to perform caused by unforeseeable or unavoidable circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
Depending on the circumstances, force majeure events may include:
- Administrative restrictions.
- Health emergencies.
- Serious utility or supply outages.
- Fires, floods or extreme weather events.
- Inability to access or use the premises.
- Other unavoidable circumstances preventing the activity from being provided.
In such cases, Des Candles Studio will seek a proportionate solution, which may consist of rescheduling the activity, offering an alternative or refunding amounts where appropriate.
18. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers allow the experience stated on the voucher to be booked.
Unless a different condition is expressly stated during purchase:
- They will be valid for 6 months from the date of purchase.
- The exact expiry date will appear on the voucher or confirmation.
- They must be redeemed and used within their validity period.
- Redemption will be subject to the availability of dates and places.
- Advance booking will be required.
- They cannot be exchanged for cash.
- They cannot be used after their expiry date.
- Any unused amount will not be refunded once the voucher has expired.
- They may be transferred to another person unless expressly stated to be personal and non-transferable.
The voucher must be kept until redemption has been completed. Des Candles Studio may request the relevant code to verify its authenticity and validity.
Once redeemed for a specific date, the change and cancellation policy corresponding to the booked experience will apply.
If the price of the experience changes before redemption, the conditions stated on the voucher will apply. Where a price difference must be paid, this will be disclosed before the booking is confirmed.
The exercise of the right of withdrawal for a voucher purchased at a distance, where legally applicable and provided that it has not yet been redeemed or used, will be governed by the applicable consumer legislation.
19. Private events and corporate activities
Private bookings, celebrations and corporate activities may be subject to a quotation and specific terms.
These specific terms may regulate:
- Minimum and maximum number of attendees.
- Deposit amount.
- Payment schedule.
- Confirmation deadline.
- Changes to the number of participants.
- Additional services.
- Change or cancellation conditions.
- Invoicing.
- Personalisation of the activity.
- Travel, where applicable.
Where specific terms have been accepted by both parties, they will prevail over these general terms in relation to matters they expressly regulate.
20. Physical products
Where available, the website may sell candles, creative kits, materials and other physical products.
Each product description will provide information on:
- Essential characteristics.
- Price.
- Availability.
- Contents.
- Estimated preparation time.
- Shipping terms and costs.
- Possible limitations or warnings for use.
Handmade products may have slight variations inherent to their production process. These differences will not in themselves constitute a lack of conformity where the product substantially matches its description and is suitable for its intended use.
21. Preparation, shipping and delivery
Shipping areas, applicable costs and estimated delivery times will be shown before the purchase is completed.
The stated timeframe may include:
- Production or preparation time.
- Transit time.
- Additional periods for handmade or made-to-order products.
The buyer must provide a complete and correct delivery address.
If a delivery issue occurs, Des Candles Studio will cooperate with the carrier to resolve it and will fulfil its obligations as seller until the product is delivered in accordance with applicable law.
If the parcel shows visible damage, it is recommended that this be recorded with the carrier and that [email protected] be contacted as soon as possible, including photographs of the packaging and product where possible.
Failure to report the issue immediately will not automatically result in the loss of the consumer's statutory rights.
22. Right of withdrawal for physical products
Where the law recognises a right of withdrawal, the consumer will have 14 calendar days from receipt of the product to communicate their decision, without having to provide a reason.
The request must be sent to [email protected], identifying the order and the products to be returned.
The product must be returned within the statutory period, properly protected and together with its components and accessories.
Direct return costs will be borne by the consumer unless:
- The product is defective.
- It arrived damaged.
- It is incorrect.
- It does not correspond to what was ordered.
- Des Candles Studio has expressly agreed to bear those costs.
The consumer may inspect the product to a reasonable extent. They will be responsible for any reduction in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.
Des Candles Studio may withhold the refund until it has received the product or until the consumer provides sufficient proof that it has been returned.
The refund will be made using the same payment method used for the purchase, unless expressly agreed otherwise without creating additional costs.
23. Personalised products
The right of withdrawal will not apply to products made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised where the corresponding legal exception applies.
Personalised products may include, among others:
- Candles with names, initials or dates.
- Made-to-order designs.
- Products with personalised messages.
- Combinations made specifically according to individual instructions.
The exclusion of the right of withdrawal will also be stated in the product description and before payment is confirmed.
The handmade nature of a product does not, by itself, mean that it is personalised or automatically remove the right of withdrawal.
24. Statutory product guarantee
Physical products will be covered by the applicable statutory guarantee against lack of conformity.
Where a product is defective, does not match its description or is not suitable for its ordinary use, the consumer may request the remedies recognised by law, such as:
- Bringing the product into conformity.
- Replacement.
- Price reduction.
- Termination of the contract, where applicable.
For new goods, the general period of liability for lack of conformity is three years from delivery, without prejudice to any other rules and time limits provided by law.
Variations inherent to handmade production will not exclude the guarantee where there is a genuine defect, a safety issue or a substantial difference from what was contracted.
25. Courses and digital content
Where available, online courses and digital content will be governed by the information provided in their description.
Before purchase, information will be provided about:
- Content and objectives.
- Format.
- Duration of access.
- Technical requirements.
- Compatibility.
- Price.
- Access method.
- Included support.
- Usage limitations.
Access is personal and may not be shared, resold, reproduced publicly or made available to third parties without authorisation.
Materials, videos, texts, designs and resources are protected by intellectual property rights.
26. Withdrawal from digital content
Where a course or digital content is supplied immediately and without a tangible medium, the right of withdrawal may be lost once performance has begun where:
- The consumer has expressly consented to the supply beginning during the withdrawal period.
- The consumer has acknowledged that, by doing so, they lose their right of withdrawal.
- Des Candles Studio has sent the corresponding confirmation.
Where these requirements are not met, the right of withdrawal will apply in accordance with current legislation.
During the purchase process, the specific consents required will be requested before immediate access is provided.
27. Intellectual property
The contents of the website and courses, including texts, images, photographs, videos, designs, logos, teaching materials and documents, belong to Des Candles Studio or are used with authorisation.
Booking an experience or purchasing a product or course does not transfer intellectual property rights.
The following are not permitted:
- Copying or distributing materials without authorisation.
- Sharing personal access credentials.
- Reselling content.
- Using the materials for commercial purposes.
- Recording or reproducing a course in full.
- Using the Des Candles Studio brand or images without consent.
28. Contract language and translations
These terms and the contracting process are originally published in Spanish.
The contract will be entered into and retained in Spanish unless Des Candles Studio expressly offers another language version during the contracting process.
Automatic translations produced by browsers, devices, extensions, external tools or third-party services are for information purposes only and may contain errors, inaccuracies or differences in interpretation.
Des Candles Studio does not control or guarantee the accuracy of automatic translations performed by external services.
In the event of any discrepancy between an automatic translation and the original content published by Des Candles Studio, the original Spanish version will be used as the reference, without prejudice to any language rights recognised for consumers under applicable law.
This clause does not limit the right of consumers in Catalonia to use the official languages or to receive any information or documentation that must be provided in Catalan under applicable law.
29. Data protection and cookies
Personal data provided during the contracting process will be processed in accordance with the Des Candles Studio Privacy Policy.
The use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by the Cookie Policy.
Both documents must be available through accessible links on the website.
30. Customer service and complaints
For enquiries, incidents or complaints, you can contact us using:
Email: [email protected]
Telephone: 642 425 596
Address: C/ Erasme de Janer, 9, 08001 Barcelona, Spain
Des Candles Studio will respond to complaints within the legally applicable time limits.
Official complaint, claim and reporting forms are available to consumers at the premises.
31. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by Spanish law and the applicable consumer protection legislation.
In-person experiences will be provided in Barcelona, Valencia or at the location stated in the description and confirmation of each booking. The selected location will be the place where the contracted service is provided.
In the event of a dispute, the parties will first attempt to reach an amicable solution.
Where the contract is made with a consumer, the courts and tribunals determined by applicable law will have jurisdiction, including, where appropriate, those of the place where the service is provided or the consumer's place of residence.
Where the contract is entered into by a business or professional acting within the scope of their activity, the parties submit, unless mandatory law provides otherwise, to the courts and tribunals of Barcelona.
32. Changes to these terms
Des Candles Studio may update these terms to adapt them to:
- Legal changes.
- New contracting methods.
- The addition of products or services.
- Technical or organisational changes.
The version applicable will be the version published and accepted when each transaction is completed.
The date of the latest update will appear at the beginning of the document.
